Amelia (Millie) DeRosa, 89, of 135 Putnam Ave. Hamden , passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Ct. Hospice, Branford. She was the wife of the late Jack S. DeRosa. She was born in New Haven, March 5, 1921 daughter of the .late Dominic and Josephine DiCosimo D'Amato. She is survived by daughters, Joanne (Dennis) McCarthy of West Palm Beach, FL, Maria (Joseph) Rossi of Hamden, a son, Jack (JoAnn) DeRosa of Cheshire. Also survived by sisters, Mary Ercolano of Hamden and Lucy Maturo of Atlanta, GA. brothers, Cosmo D'Amato of Wallingford and Dominic D'Amato of Cheshire. Amelia, was the grandmother of Stephanie Piddock, Dennis and Kyle McCarthy, David and Erica DeRosa and the great grandmother of Andrew Fogarty, Philip and Alex Cummings, Justin, Shane and Colin McCarthy and Ariana DeRosa. She was predeceased by sisters, Rae Moniello and Jean Antezzo brothers, Frederick Damon, John D'Amato and Salvatore D'Amato. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thursday morning, June3 at 10;15am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michale's Church, 29 Wooster Pl., New Haven, at 11;00am. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
