Andrea DeSandre

Andrea (Andy) J. DeSandre, 75, of Meriden, went peacefully to her lord Jesus Christ on April 24th 2017 after a long illness. She was the loving wife of John E DeSandre for 50 years, John was at her side every day throughout her illness. She was born in Meriden to Raymond and Jane Johnson on March 25th 1942, graduated from Platt High School in 1960 and went on to study at Midland Lutheran College in Nebraska. She worked for 20 years at the headquarters building of Connecticut State Police Department retiring in 1997 . Andy loved her life and all the people, particularly her family, who traveled through that life with her. Her kind spirit of loving friendship and generosity was a gift to all who knew her. In addition to her loving husband, Andy is survived by her devoted son John M DeSandre, two sisters, Lee Lutz & her husband, David of Texas, Susan Brunderman and husband, John of New Hampshire, her sister in law, Brenda Dunn and husband Jack. She is survived by five grandchildren, Ashley, Melissa, Joseph, John and Cody, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Wilma 'Billie' Doyle. Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Avenue, Meriden, Ct 06451 from 4PM to 7PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday April 28th, at 10:00am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 164 Hanover Street, Meriden, CT. Burial will be follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
