Arnold Lazaroff, founder of Arnold’s Jewelers, a 65-year old family business, an icon in the community, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 with his family by his side. Arnold was born on August 27, 1932 to the late William and Frances Lazaroff. He attended Quinnipiac College, and then faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army.
In 1957 he opened Arnold’s Jewelers in Hamden. He moved the business to its current location in North Haven in 1967, and it has remained there ever since. His smile, honesty, and integrity will always be remembered and cherished. Arnold affected so many lives and was an integral part of so many organizations that his passing is sure to touch many people. His legacy will live on and he will never be forgotten.
He leaves behind his cherished wife, Mary Jane, and his loving sister, Cynthia Greenberg. He was also the loving father to Larry (June) and Stuart (Angela) Lazaroff, Kimberly (Vincent) Testa, and Kristen (Vincent) Crudo; grandfather to 11 grandchildren, Stephen (Cara) and Robert Lazaroff, Tim Laffin, Jeffrey and Risa (Adil) Lazaroff, Kaitlyn (Matthew) Cunningham, Noel and Matthew Pacelli, and Vincent, Dante, and Mia Crudo; and great-grandfather to his blessed great-grandson, Matthew Pacelli, Jr. He was predeceased by his first wife, Linda Lazaroff Brook.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 2nd at Congregation Mishkan Israel, 785 Ridge Road, Hamden at 12:00 p.m. Friends may visit with Arnold’s family prior to the start of the service, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Northford Cemetery. A Period of Mourning, Shiva, will begin following the burial on Monday, and Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at 30 Mowry Street, North Haven. Contributions in Arnold’s memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of CT, 860 Howard Avenue, New Haven, CT 06519 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

He was not only a great icon in the community for several years, but a true friend to many. I personally feel like I lost a family member as he and I joked about him being my uncle and Larry and Stuart were my cousins.
