Barbara Sweeney Gosselin of Hamden died on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. She was born in New Haven on May 25, 1927 a daughter of the late James U. and Evelyn Kennedy Sweeney. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Arthur H. Gosselin, and her five daughters; Michele (Robert) Post of Manchester Center, VT, Sandra (Christy) Pontillo of Clinton, Janette (Albert) Piscitelli of Bonita Springs, FL, Margaret (Douglas Watters) Gosselin of Toronto, Canada, and Elizabeth (Paul) Powers of North Haven. She also leaves 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was predeceased by her brother, James U. Sweeney, Jr. A graduate of Day School in New Haven , Barbara received a B.A. from Albertus Magnus College and a M.S. from Southern CT State University. She was a teacher at the Helen Street School in Hamden . At her request, there will be no services. BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave. , Hamden in care of arrangements.
