Phillips, Bernadette A. Bernadette Alexander Phillips, 59, of Hamden passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at her home. She was the wife of the late Glenn Phillips. Mother of Lynn Phillips, Stephanie Haynes and her husband Michael all of Hamden and Melissa Phillips of Wethersfield; sister of Everett Alexander of Santa Monica, CA, Betty Richardson of North Haven, Robert Alexander of Bradenton, FL, Paul Alexander of Hamden, Linda Nuzzo of Port St. Lucie, FL and Marion Alexander of Hamden and grandmother of Crystal and Marylyn Edmonds, Donovan and Portia Haynes and Vincenzo Cenko. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bernadette was born in New Haven, May 30, 1950, a daughter of the late Marie Pilletere Alexander. Prior to moving to Hamden in 1990, she lived in West Haven for many years. She had worked in retail for many years, her last employment was at Save-A-Lot. Friends and family may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thursday from 4 - 6 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.

  5. She was a women who made you feel part of what ever was going on. She made me smile , I loved watching her with the kid she was so damn proud of. A mother who you see taught her children well because you can see it in her childrens chlidren. She was a big part of everyones lives and our heart will be heavy because of our loss.I believe she is still here watching over theose who she love so much .. We all may not be able to touch or hug but we can feel her presence and talk for ever to her because she is listening . God bless the family.

  6. I am glad that you are no longer suffering and I know that Stephanie and your family are going to miss you terribly. I know that she tried to make your last days special and I am sure that they were. I want Stephanie to know that I am here for her.
