Bernice T. Ritchie
MERIDEN- Bernice T. Ritchie, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Connecticut Baptist Home. Bernice was born on May 13, 1929 in Meriden, daughter of the late George and Emily Reher Ritchie. She is survived by her sister Eunice Woodmansee of Bristol, RI; sister-in-law Jean Ritchie of Meriden; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Bernice was predeceased by her brothers Ernest, Arthur, Fred, and George Ritchie. She loved to travel with her sister Eunice and late sister-in-law Dot Ritchie. She never missed a special family event from Christenings, birthdays, weddings, and summers in Rhode Island. Bernice especially enjoyed having a front row seat at the annual Bristol, RI 4th of July parade and going fishing in Narragansett Bay with her family. She was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Meriden and worked for many years for Corometrics Medical Systems in Wallingford. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bernice’s family on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00AM at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden.
I will miss Bernice and her hugs, plus giving her a back rub in the morning. She was a quiet gentle woman.
I have such wonderful memories of living above Aunt Bernie growing up. She was so good to us and so fun! We know how much she loved us. I will miss her very much! Love you Aunt Bernie!
