Blanche Nina Gutman Schlette, 99, of Pennington, NJ, died peacefully on Saturday, May 22. Born in Clinton, Mass, she had been a resident of NJ for fourteen years, moving here after spending most of her life in Connecticut. Nina is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; her step-daughters Ella, Ethel, Barbara and Norma Rose, her son, Wilbur, Jr., and two grandchildren, John and Abigail. She is survived by her son Peter and his wife Ruth, of Denham Springs, LA, her son Theodore and his wife Deborah, of Pennington, NJ, her daughter-in-law Barbara of Huron, OH; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and numerous step-grandchildren and their families. Nina is predeceased by nine siblings, and survived by her sister, Beatrice, of Peekskill, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in Pennington on Thursday. Graveside services will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden, CT, at 12:00 noon on Friday for family and friends. Local arrangements are in care of BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
