Carlene (Schultz) Owen, 70, of Meriden, loving wife of the late Douglas Owen, passed away on July 13, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 15, 1952, a daughter of the late Carl and Marion (Gustine) Schultz, and was a lifelong resident of Meriden. Carlene is survived by her sons, Patrick Owen and his wife Maureen, Michael Owen and his wife Sandra, and “son #3” Matthew Lis; her siblings, Pamela Nielsen and her husband Robert, and Keith Schultz and his wife Marcia; grandchildren, Julia, Alex, and Tyler Owen; sisters-in-law Melissa Owen and Joyce Owen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Clark Owen.
Carlene dedicated her life to her family, and her home was always open to everyone. It was continuously filled with love, life, and laughter. She adored her grandchildren and they loved playing games and sharing stories together, with both her and Pa. She was the designated mom to so many, especially those on Team CWS in the MASA organization. She loved fiercely and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Services will be privately held at the convenience of her family.

Dear Owen Family,
You are like my family. So sorry to hear about Carleen.
Stay strong! ❤️
Love, Betty Leidy
Patrick, Michael and Families, You boys won’t remember me, but I was great friends with your parents back in the old “Oakdale” days. You boys are so lucky to have the parents you had and “have”. I think we had a party almost every Saturday night , after the show during the summer. Did for years!!! Jack Williams would suggest something and your dad would make it happen. I can’t tell you all the wonderful memories I have of your parents. They even came to my wedding. Your uncle Keith worked with your dad in the parking lot back then. I was on the ‘inside” in the theater. I’m so very sorry to hear of your mom’s passing, but somehow I feel she’s very happy now being back with your dad. I would talk to her now and again on FB, and I just got the feeling , as much as she loved you boys and your families, she was just waiting to be with your dad. It’s up to you two now to carry on everything they taught you, and I think your both doing that from things she’s said to me thru the years. Keep her in your heart as I know you will, along with your dad and know that they are both with you. You both have my deepest sympathies.
Pam, Keith,
Maureen (sister) just sent this to me. Brought back so many early memories of times together. Uncle ‘Bus’ and Aunt Marion were always a favorites and have the fondest memories, if only as a kid. My condolences on Carlene’s passing, she sounded like a wonderful person.
