Daniel Thomas Smith, 65, of Ridge Rd., North Haven passed away March 15, 2023. Loving father of Jason T. Smith, Christopher D. Smith, Gloria T. Smith, and Danielle G. Smith, all of North Haven. Beloved grandfather of Kurt D. and Wade W. Smith. Brother of Barbara Schlosser of Tolland and the late Raymond Smith. He was born in New Haven November 2, 1957, a son of the late Harry L. and Mary Ryan Smith, and had resided in North Haven since 1995. He received a BA degree from S.C.S.U., and was a police officer at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a custodial supervisor with the New Haven Board of Education. Daniel retired from the CT Army National Guard at the rank of Major. His pleasures included spending time with his precious grandchildren, making fried dough pizzas, and exercising. He will be missed by many.
Friends are invited to visit with his family on Sunday, March 19th from 4-7 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, and are also invited to attend a graveside burial ceremony with Military Honors on Monday, March 20th at 11 a.m. in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Please meet at the cemetery office at 10:45.

  5. My sincere condolences to the family of Daniel. My name is Kathleen, I am the daughter of Carole Creehan TenEyck, Danny’s cousin. We just learned today of his passing; else I would have attended services. I watched the video posted and the pictures were of Danny and my sister, Carol Ann. For my mom, it brought back beautiful memories. Daniel is with our Lord and Saviour, resting in peace.
