Resided in: Meriden, CT

Dawn Maureen Woods, 60, of Meriden, loving wife of Donald V. Woods, passed away on November 17, 2022, at home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on January 14, 1962, a daughter of Patricia Reynolds Card Michel and the late John Henry Card. Besides her husband Donald and mother Patricia, Dawn leaves her siblings; Janet Bell (Michael), Irene Warner (Robert), John Card Jr. (Marilu), Sharon Viniconis, Sandra Card (Louie DiMeo), Leona Johnson (Allen), Barbara Wallett (Phillip), and Edmund Card, many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by her father John Henry Card and brother-in-law Frank Viniconis.

Dawn loved creating crafts, doing latch hook, country line dancing, reading and puzzles. Family was important to Dawn. She enjoyed spending time with all her nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews; she never missed birthday parties or family get-togethers. Dawn always kept candy, snacks and juice for the kids to stop by anytime.

Dawn loved animals especially her dogs and cats. She leaves behind Buddy, her Australian Shepherd and Squeaker, her black cat.

She was so proud to be our family historian-the keeper of all the pictures and mementos of all her brothers and sisters growing up.

Dawn loved baking, especially making enough pumpkin pies for everyone in the family to have their own. We all will miss the pies during the holidays.

Some of our fondest memories about Dawn include that she always had dirty feet, she hated wearing shoes growing up. She was the first one to grab the sled and head down the hill in the winter snow. Dawn was always willing to be the first to try anything.

Donnie will miss most of all Dawn’s voice calling, “Hey Hon,” that always meant trouble; either she wanted the credit card to go shopping for something fancy or some other stuff. Dawn loved pretty, fancy things.

Dawn lived her life to the fullest. All our hearts are definitely so broken after she has left us.

Friends are invited to visit with Dawn’s family on Friday, November 25th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.  A memorial service celebrating her life will be held in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.
