Deborah R. Walker, age 69, of Waterbury passed away on March 12, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Deborah was born in New Haven on April 28, 1951, a daughter of the late John & Marion (Hawley) Almeida. She is survived by her husband Melvin Walker; her sons Marlin & Alan Walker, both of Waterbury; her sister Sylvia Almeida-Daluz of New Haven; her brother John Almeida Jr. of North Carolina; her grandchildren Shaquan Walker, Tia Walker, Kiara Negron, Marlin Walker Jr., Mariah Walker, Kyle Walker, Alan Walker Jr., & Anthony Walker; and her great-grandchildren Ava & Alicia Walker. She was a postal clerk employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 41 years, retiring from the Wallingford Post Office. Raised in New Haven, she was a 1969 graduate of Lee High School. Deborah was a resident of Hamden for 24 years prior to living in Waterbury for the last 20 years.
Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on March 22, 2021 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and may attend a Celebration of her Life beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
