Texas - Dorothy A. Schley Campbell, 89 wife of the late Robert Bruce Campbell passed away at the Rowlett Health Care Center in Rowlett, TX on July 1, 2009. She is the mother of Myrna Campbell Spencer and the grandmother of Karen Caporizzo both of Meriden. Born in Stamford, CT she was the daughter of the late Charles Anton and Katherine (Golich) Schley. Dorothy attended the Stamford Schools, graduating from Darien High School in 1937. After living in Brookfield for many years she spent the past twenty years in Rowlett, TX. Before retiring she worked for 10 years at Preferred Utilities and the Boroughs Corp. in Danbury, CT. Dorothy was known for her fine sewing and made many clothes for herself and her children. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Rowlett Health Care Center and her caring roommate Mary Webb. She was lovingly cared for by her Texas family and spiritually blessed with her devoted daughter-in-law, Yoon Campbell during her stay. Dorothy is survived by four daughters and their husbands; Myrna and Barry Spencer of Meriden, Linda and James Mizell of Rowlett, TX, Susan and Donald Emond of Meriden, Sheri and Timothy Faust of Scottsdale, AZ and four sons and their wives; Wilfred and Janet(Lindstrom) Campbell of Oceanside, CA, Barry and Linda (Keiderling) Campbell of Royce City, TX, Ronald and Yoon(Kim) Campbell of Rowlett, TX and Colin and Kimberly Campbell of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grand daughter, a brother and his wife, Henry and Gerda Schley of Spring Hill, FL a sister-in-law, Myra Schley of Norwalk, CT and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her oldest son Robert Bruce Campbell Jr., her twin sister, Katherine Schley Thompson, her sisters Edna Westerhoff and Marion Siciliano and three brothers Erwin Schley, Charles Schley and Edward Schley. Family and friends may call at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden on Wednesday, July 8 from 9:30-10:30am with a service of remembrance and celebration to follow at 11:00am. The Rev Eric Henderson, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Meriden will officiate. Burial at the Union Cemetery in North Stamford will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
