Keir, Douglas Stewart In New Haven, March 21, 2002, Douglas Stewart Keir, 83, husband of Elizabeth Rudon Keir of 807 Evergreen Ave., Hamden, father of Betty Lawrence of Branford and Terry D. Keir of Minneapolis, MN, step-father of Roy Crum of Deep River, CT and Stephan Crum of Clarksville, TN, also survived by 4 grandsons. He was predeceased by his first wife, Minnie Urquart Keir and a brother, Geoffery Cooper. He was born in Ravensthrop, Yorkshire, England, August 4, 1918 a son of the late James and Maggie Stewart Keir and was a veteran of the Royal Air Force. He had worked for the National Research Council in Ottawa, Canada and retired in 1982 after working for 25 years from Olin Corp. where he worked as a scientist. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, on Monday, March 25 from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492.
