Elsie Helen Kazimer, 87, of Meriden, passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side on Friday July, 3 2015, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She leaves behind her loving husband of almost 60 years, Rudolph Kazimer, of Meriden; daughter, Nancy Kazimer, also of Meriden; and sons Robert (Ellen) Kazimer, of Fairfax Station, Va., and Thomas Kazimer, of Meriden. She also leaves her sister, Ruth Ludwig, of Tennessee; brother, Fred Radke, of New Mexico; and grandchildren, Katherine and Timothy Kazimer; along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers, Herman, Russell, and Herbert Radke; and sister, Gertrude Birck. Elsie was born in Hartford, Conn. on Jan. 29, 1928 to the late Emil and Olga Radke. She was a longtime Meriden resident and worked as secretary to the Meriden City Planner and principal of Lincoln Middle School. Elsie loved sewing, cooking, driving to the shore with her husband, and being a great hostess to her many friends and family. She also enjoyed her work with the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Sunday School at St. John Lutheran Church in Meriden. Elsie's funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 7, at noon at St John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden. Visiting hours will take place at the church from 10 a.m. to noon before the service. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elsie's memory can be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave. Meriden, CT 06450.
