Florence Keller

Hamden- Florence Keller, MD, of 200 Leeder Hill Dr.passed away Thursday October 25, 2001. She was born in Brooklyn, NY September 6, 1912 and graduated from Brooklyn Friends School, and Adelphi College in Garden City, Long Island. She was employed in the labratory of Kings County Isolation Hospital and then at the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research. She received her Medical Degree from Long Island College of Medicine. She served a year as a rotating intern at Long Island College Hospital and then a year as Resident of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Watts Hospital, and a year later at Duke University Hospital in North Carolina. She then entered private practice in New Haven, CT where she received her accredidation as a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was on the Faculty of Yale University School of Medicine and served on the staffs of Yale New Haven and St. Raphael Hospitals. Dr. Keller is survived by a sister, Eleanor Keller Bonner of Chapel Hill, NC, three nieces; Phyllis Thompson of Jackson, MS., Jennifer Parker of Wallkill, NY, Ellen Cohen of Chapel Hill, NC, and a nephew Robert Bonner of Sedona, AZ. There will be a private memorial service for the family and interment will be in Woodbury Cemetery, Woodbury, CT
