Hamden - Frances Marie Santillo Melillo, of Hamden, 90 died Mon., Jan. 22, 2007 in New Haven at St. Raphael's Hospital. Wife of the late Toby Melillo, Frances is survived by a daughter, Barbara Melillo with whom she lived, of Hamden; three grandchildren, Robert Melillo, Michelle Landolfi and Steven Dattilo; five great-grandchildren, Jaime Violano, Andrew Melillo, Daniel Melillo, Robert Melillo and Nicole Landolfi; one great-great-grandchild, Analyn Violano; two sisters, Geraldine Roche of Hamden and Dorothy and her husband Paul Tamassia of Port St. Lucie, FL, a daughter-in-law, Diana Melillo of FL and several nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by a son, Robert T. Mellilo and five brothers and sisters, Angelo Santillo, Harry Santillo, Julia Massotta, Gloria Palluotto and Sal Vissicchio. Frances was born in Hamden on Nov. 2, 1916, a daughter of the late Bartolomeo and Carmela Palmieri Santillo. She was the proprietor of Mel's Farm Market for 37 years. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and cards, everyone called her "Nanny". She was full of life and loved by all that knew her. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden Fri., Jan. 26 at 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may call Thurs., Jan. 25 from 4 to 8 p.m.
