Gerald M. “Gerry” Bezruczyk, 81, beloved husband of 43 years to Evelyn Doran Bezruczyk of West Haven, passed away on September 5, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born in New Britain on August 3, 1942, a son of the late Walter F. and Helen Chudzik Bezruczyk. Gerry proudly served in the U.S. Navy before being employed as a custodian for 23 years at Branford High School. As an active member of Christ Church in West Haven, he was also custodian there, along with at Beecher & Bennett-Taylor Funeral Home.
Besides his wife, Gerry will be lovingly missed by his children, Cherly Angelides of Bennington, VT and Thomas (Kim) Doran of West Haven; grandchildren, Melissa and Anna Doran and J.J. and Aleia Angelides; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Kaia, and Staci; and sister, Eileen Daleness of Las Vegas. Gerry will be remembered for his continuous hard work, quiet nature, and big heart.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 30th at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 28 Church St., West Haven. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the church urn garden. BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden in care of arrangements.
