EUSTIS, FLORIDA - Grace Margaret Girardin, 86, formerly of Butler St., Meriden, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, in Florida Hospital, Eustis. She was the wife of the late Gustave S. Girardin. Born in New York City, N.Y. on March 16, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Max and Agnes Grace Ryan Schick. She was employed as a telephone operator at Southern New England Telephone Company and was a member of the First Congregational Church in Meriden, the French Club and the Meriden Senior Center. She is survived by a son, Ronald W. Girardin, Sr. of Eustis, Fla.; a sister, Anne Hill of Portland, CT; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Ann Girardin and a great-grandson, Austin Cody Crooke. The funeral will be held Monday, Sept. l0, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 62 Colony St., Meriden. The Rev. Kenneth Frazier will officiate. Burial will be in St. Laurent Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. If desired, contributions in Mrs. Girardin's memory may be made to the Meriden Public Library, Talk-n-Book Program, 105 Miller St., Meriden, CT 06450.

  1. Gram was such a wonderful lady. She is the one person that I could always count on when I was growing up. She always understood and was there to listen and lend a hand when I needed it. I am thankful that we had the close relationship that we had. She is the best. We will miss her greatly.
