Harriet E. Smith

West Haven- Harriet E. Smith, 89 died on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford., She was born December 28, 1920 in West Haven a daughter of the late William and Olive (Chase) Smith. Harriet retired in 1983 from SNET after almost 40 years of service. She was a 60 year member of the First Congregational Church of West Haven, as well as a member of the Order of the East Star and the Morris F. Tyler Chapter of Telephone Pioneers of America. She had a great love of all animals especially cats. She is survived by three nieces and thier husbands, Susan and Bill Gargano, Barbara and Richard Massey and Cynthia and Mark Luedee as well as many great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. She was predeceased by a two sisters, Hazel Smith and Olive Gert Diana and a brother-in-law David Diana. Relatives and friends may call at the Beecher & Bennett-Taylor Funeral Home, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 11am -12noon. A graveside service and burial will follow at Orange Center Cemetery, Orange, CT.
