  27. My dearest friend Kat I am so sorry for the loss you & Jamie are going through. My heart is with you and your family’s. Hazel was one of the coolest mom’s around, the way she would always let everyone hang out at your house when we were teens. My fondest memory is when you and I thought we were pulling a quick one over on your mom and we had a quart of Colt 45 and we were drinking it in the attic and we hid the bottle between the mattress of a hide-a-way bed. We than went out and got in the car and waited for her to come out and take us to the bowling alley. She came outside with a big smile on her face swinging that bottle of Colt 45 in her hand and tossed it into the dumpster. We couldn’t believe we got caught. If I remember correctly she said nothing happens that I don’t know about. Your mom was awesome. I’m very thankful I had a chance to see her last time I came home. Take care my friend, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Forever friends, Kitty Kitty

  28. My fondest memory of Gram would be Going to Hamden Toy’s R US on Sundays and her buying me a Match Box Car Just because John had one too 🙂 My other favorite memory was going to get her slippers up in her room on Christmas upset i didn’t get a key board and there it was on her bed 🙂

  31. Our deepest sympathy goes out to all the family and friends, and we loved Hazel as if she was our own sister. Peace and Love, Charlie & Barry Evelyn.s Brother and Brother-in-law

  32. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family, we know that now Hazel is in a place with no more pain….who knows… she might be giving my mom (her sister) hell for going before her! But at least now they both are in a carefree place now and do what ever they want to do….maybe they have a casino/slots place where the two of them can place all the bets they want to be, cause I know my mom is positivly playing those slots if they have them up there… and not risking the chance of wasting all her funds!! LOL I hope they both are having a good reunion!! Love to all of you and things will be a little easier to handle soon enough , but in till then try and think of positive things about Hazel and cherish them all! Love to all of you Love Bev and Michael Higgins

  39. To Hazel-Jane’s family, I would like to express my very deepest sympathy at this most difficult time. I met Hazel a little over 50 years ago. I knew her brother. I knew him as Fred, she referred to him as Bub. We met when he was in the Navy and we were at a roller skating rink in New Haven. He, my cousin, and I became friends. When Fred went back to his tour of duty in the Navy, Hazel and I used to talk on the phone frequently. I spoke with her and her aunt, Mrs. White, when they lived in West Haven. Hazel had a wonderful sense of humor and made me laugh. We would run into each other through the years, catch up on family, and talk about the past. I don’t even know if Fred would remember me from the skating rink but I wanted him to know how much I thought of Hazel and was deely saddened by her passing. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

  40. To Hazel’s family, I want to express my most heartfelt sympathy to all of you. Although I only knew Hazel for about 10 months, she always made me feel very welcome and appreciated and like a part of your family. Every week, I looked forward to seeing and helping you guys out on Tuesdays. It never felt like a .job. to me. I will always remember Hazel for her honesty, dry wit,her unique sense of humor-but especially for her deep love of her family and friends. Although she never took anything from anyone, she always had a good heart and was willing to help anybody. Thankfully, she is at peace now and free from pain and suffering. She will be greatly missed and I will always remember her fondly. With much love and sympathy, her Tuesday .friend.. With love and respect, Cindy Fusco
