Helen P. Bober

Meriden- Helen P. Bober, 94, wife of the late John T. Bober, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. Helen was born December 26, 1920 in Meriden a daughter of the late William H. Patkoske and Helen (Ficken) Carlson. She was a graduate of Meriden High School and Pequod Business School. Helen was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the secretary for Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home for 20 years retiring in 2011 at the age of 90. She loved to shop and travel. Her family has many fond memories of trips they took with her to Italy, Germany, Austria, Mexico, Alaska, California, Hawaii, Maryland, Florida and many state parks. Helen is survived by three sons, David J. Bober & his wife Meg of Baltimore, MD, Robert T. Bober & his former wife, Donna Zeman of Meriden, and Kenneth W. Bober & his husband Greg Ebner of Roseville, CA; four grandchildren, Alyssa & her husband Brian Gerard of Thetford, VT, Jeremy & his wife Bernadette Bober of Hamden, Derek & his wife Sarah Bober of Michigan and Amanda (Bober) & her husband Matt Amendt of Maryland; a sister, Evelyn & her husband Lloyd Real of Newbury, VT. She also leaves six great-grandchildren, Kaydence & Keegan Bober, Henryk & Nathan Bober, and Piper & Wiley Girard; nieces and nephews, Pamela & her husband Dana Fournier, of MA, Marcia & her husband James Newcomb, William & his wife Lori Real, both of NH, Geraldine & her husband Charles Homer, Roberta Mickiewicz and Michael Rybeck all of Meriden; her Goddaughter, Joanne Rochette Dobensky and many cousins. In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by her step-father, Fritz W. Carlson and confidant and companion, George Mullen. Relatives and friends may call at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave, Meriden, on Thursday, February 26th from 5-8 PM. Friends are also invited to the funeral home Friday morning from 9:30-10:30AM, before leaving for her Funeral Service in Immanuel Lutheran Church at 11AM. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
