In CT Hospice, Branford, June 12, 2001, Howard ''Howie'' Eugene Stanley, Sr., 84, of 20 Providence St., New Haven, beloved husband of Anna Santos Stanley. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Pricilla ''Pina'' Andrade of New Haven, Antoinette ''Sissy'' Wynkoop of Waterbury, Howard E. Stanley, Jr., of New Haven, Frank Stanley, Sr., of West Haven, Jesse ''Commander'' Stanley, Sr., of New Haven and James ''Jimmy'' Stanley, Sr., of North Haven. Also survived by sisters, Alice Brown and Clara Stone both of New Haven. Pop leaves 16 precious grandchildren and was blessed with 30 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Emma Stanley and brothers, Jesse Richardson and James Stanley. He was born in New Haven, Nov. 27, 1916 a son of the late James O. & Lillian Kennard Stanley and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II and was a member of VFW Post # 10321 of Hamden. He had been employed by United Scrap Iron & Metal Co. for 48 years as a crane operator and yard foreman. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Sat., June, 16 at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in St. Francis Church, 397 Ferry St., New Haven at 9:30 a.m. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
