Indra K. Paranatale

Indra K. Paranatale, 82, of Orange, passed away on May 12, 2009. She was born in Wattegama, Sri Lankan on August 16, 1926 to the late TikiriBanda Paranatale and Loku Kumari Wattegama. Indra is survived by her sister Seelawathie Anula Kumarihami Dawlagala of Orange, nephew, Nimal Dawlagala and his wife Umanga of Orange, niece Srima Kumari DeSliva of NJ, grandniece, Nadeera Dawlagala of Orange, good friends, Gertrude and Clarence Siglin of Hamden, and Joyce and Stanley Menacherry of Orange. Indra grew up in Sri Lanka and worked as a nurse before moving to America in 1962. She graduated from the Rockland Community College in New York with a BA in Nursing before working at hospitals in New York for 40 years. Indra moved to Orange in 1978 and continued her career at St. Vincent 's Hospital before retiring from Orange Convalescent Home in 1995. Funeral Service at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Friday, May 15th at 10:00. Friends may visit with her family, Friday morning from 9 to 10:00. Burial will be private.
