After a brief illness, December 11, 2009, Ivar (Ken) Erickson, formerly of Washington Ave., West Haven, husband of the late Lenora Lupoli Erickson. Father of Robert L. Erickson and his wife Carmelia Cassano of Orange, Carol A. Allen of North Branford, Kenneth J. Erickson of Deerfield Beach, FL. and the late David G. Erickson ; grandfather of Dr. Joseph D. Allen, Paul G. Allen, James K. Erickson and the late David P. Allen. Predeceased by a sister, Ruth Erickson. Friend of Bob Melillo of North Haven. Ken was born on December 29, 1929 in Hartford, CT son of the late Ninus and Elsie Smith Erickson. After WW11 he served with U. S. Army of Occupation stationed in Japan and Korea He was a resident of West Haven for over 50 years. Ken was a route salesman for Fitzgerald-Coclin Vending Corp. for over 33 years retiring in 1993. He later was a driver for Papa & Sons for 15 years. Ken was a member of the West Haven Senior Center on Noble St., the West Haven Italian American Civic Assoc. and the West Shore Horse Shoe, Darts, Duck Pin Bowling and Bocci Leagues and was a usher at St Lawrence Church. He enjoyed the company of his many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Lawrence Church, 207 Main St., West Haven, on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Military Honors in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. Calling hours are Monday from 4-8 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Smilow Cancer Center, c/o 20 York St., New Haven, CT 06510.
