  9. So very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He was a great guy! Sending my thoughts and prayers to his family.

  10. I was shocked & saddened to learn that cousin Jimmy had passed. My aunt in CT called me here in Georgia, because she knew of my fond affection for one of the finest members of the Collins branch of the family. Ever since I was a young girl (many moons ago), I can remember Jimmy was always there to honor family members that I’m sure he is united with now. Most recently, he attended the service for my sister, Linda. Linda adored him! She went out of her way to go to his branch of the post office (even though she resided in a different town), because Jimmy was so sincerely kind to her autistic son. For those who may not understand, that is a big deal…My Dad was always so happy to see him. Jimmy had an awesome sense of humor & a loyalty to family. To his immediate family, you have my heartfelt condolences. He is at peace in Heaven, but he leaves a great big void on earth. God bless you Jimmy! 💟💜✝️

  11. Rip Jimmy, we’ll miss you at the Quinnipiac Arena, I’ve been there with you since the start, 16 years ago. Always looked forward to seeing you there.

    The Wells Family

  14. Jim was known to me as the man who helped so many people at the Hamden post office. I met him first at the location on Dixwell Ave., where he helped me with my first post office box, which was stuck & wouldn’t open. Then I was happy to see him at the Mt. Carmel Branch where for years he was a wonderful, friendly person behind the desk. He was especially kind and patient with elderly people and my mom was one of them. After he retired it just wasn’t the same.

  15. So very sorry to Erin, Tyler and the rest of the family… God Bless you in the days ahead.. and RIP to Jim

  16. From 2015-2021 I used the Mount Carmel Post Office quite regularly. Jim was one of my favorite employees. He reminded me of the generation of wonderful older men in my family. He was always pleasant, professional and efficient. My sincere condolences to Jim’s family and friends.

  17. My condolences to the family upon hearing of Jim’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  18. I worked with Jim many years ago at Brewery St. Later in our careers I would periodically stop into the Mt Carmel office and was always greeted with a big smile and hello. It’s people like Jim that I will truly miss-but his memory will be locked in my heart forever. A great person to be proud of.

  19. So fortunate to have worked with Jim in the Mt Carmel post office. I’ll forever treasure the hours we spent together at work, lunch and of course on the golf course. A true friend who always had my back and kept me entertained every minute we were together. Great co-worker, friend and devoted husband and father. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Love you brother, see you at the 19th hole.
