Janet Grace Kelsey, 92, of Hamden, passed away on December 28, 2009 after a long illness. She was born in West Haven on November 28, 1917 to the late A.B. Hall and Eva Douglas Hall and was the granddaughter of A.B. Hall Sr., founder of Hall Benedict Drug Co. on Orange St. in New Haven. Janet was the wife of the late Morley J. Kelsey; beloved mother to her children, Joan Thomas of Hamden, Robert Kelsey and his wife Kathy of Hamden, Donna Desauliners of Wallingford; grandmother of Richard Thomas III and his wife Laurie of Summerfield, NC, Scott Thomas and his wife Cheryl of Hamden, Linda Thomas and Steven Levesque of Hamden, Edward Koss and his wife Jen of Meriden, Joseph Koss of Ledyard, Jessica Kelsey of Hamden; great grandmother to eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Richard Thomas, Jr.; brothers, Floyd, Bryan, John, A. Benton, and Clarence Hall; sisters, Evelyn Solomon, Frances Kastner, Elinore Hunt. Janet grew up in West Haven but has lived in Hamden for the last 54 years. She was always very active, whether spending time with her family, playing Bingo, or bowling, once even being the secretary of her bowling league. Janet will be remembered as an amazing mother and grandmother. Private arrangement in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
