Jean Inglis Law, 96, of Windsor, formerly of Hamden, passed away on August 27, 2016. She was born in Middletown on January 8, 1920, to the late Ernest and Agnes Thompson Inglis. She is survived by her two sons Reed Gwillim 'Gwil' Law Jr. and his wife Janice of Chapel Hill NC, Steven Inglis Law and his wife Nancy of Windsor, and sister-in-law Patricia Inglis of Sebastian, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Reed Law III (Winnie), Evan Law, Blake Law (Sarah), Shirley Law, Charles Gary Aguilar Law (Barbara), Erica Michelle Law, and Elizabeth Roxana Law. Her great-grandchildren, Luke, Micah, Eliana, Silas, Jesse, Archer Gideon and baby girl, Talitha Law, on the way. Her nieces and nephews, Janet Cavedon, David Waring, Robert Inglis, Mark and Stephen Pritchard, Laurie Inglis, and Alexander Wood 'Woody' Law. She is predeceased by her siblings Thomas H. Inglis, Marion I. Waring, Ernest A. Inglis Jr. (Sandy), and Dorothy I. Pritchard. After high school, Jean attended Wheaton College where she majored in art history and graduated in 1942. After WWII, she and her husband Reed settled in Cortland, NY where they raised their two sons. Later she moved to Hamden, where she lived for over fifty years. Jean was a very active member of Church of the Redeemer in New Haven. She enjoyed gardening, classical music, puzzles, knitting, the NY Mets, and Chicago White Sox. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service celebrating Jean's life on Friday, September 2, 2016, at 11am at Church of the Redeemer, 185 Cold Spring St. New Haven. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Interfaith Volunteer Care Givers of Greater New Haven, 30 Gilles Rd. Hamden, CT 06517.
