In CT Hospice, Sept. 9, 2007, Jessie B. Throm, 83, of 225 Amity Rd., Woodbridge, formerly of White St., West Haven, wife of the late Holbrook N. Throm, mother of Jessica T. Peachy of New Haven and David H. Throm of Inverness, FL, sister of Virginia Calistro of Woodbridge and the late James H. Butler, grandmother of Benjamin Floman, James Floman, Bryan Throm and his wife, Elizabeth Throm, and Davina Radcliffe, great-grandmother of Tylarr Throm, Sarah Throm, Brooke Throm, JacobLevine and Katelyn Radcliffe. Jessie was born in West Haven, Sept. 16, 1923 daughter of the late James. B. and Jessie M. McDaniel Butler and was a lifelong resident of West Haven and lifelong member of the First Congregational Church of West Haven. She was a supervisor of the Dept. of Pathology at Yale New Haven Hospital for 28 years and retired in 1983. Funeral service Wed., Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven. Friends may call from Wed. from 5 - 8 p.m. Contributions in Jessie's memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 5 Brookside Ave., Wallingford, CT 06492 or to the West Haven Animal Shelter, 7 Collis St., West Haven, CT 06516.

  1. I was very saddened to hear of Jessie’s passing. I worked with Jessie in pathology on a part-time basis and am still at Yale-New Haven in the OR. She was a wonderful, warm and funny woman and a definite class act! My sincerest condolences. God holds her in the palm of his hand.

  2. It was a pleasure to work with Jessie. She was excellent at what she did, and I have fond memories of the friendship we shared while I worked in the Memorial O.R. and she in pathology.
