New Haven Register Obituary Monday March 21, 2011 Hamden JOHN E. ENDRISS, JR. John Edward Endriss, Jr. 86, husband of 60 years of Astrid Person Endriss, of West Shepard Ave. passed away March 20, 2011. After graduating from Hillhouse H.S. John enlisted in the US Navy, and served during WW II in the pacific as a petty officer 3rd class signalman. He was a police officer for the Town of Hamden for 25 years, retiring as a sargeant. John also was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, and the VASA Order. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Ellen Endriss of Glastonbury, and a sister Eugenia (Jeanne) Endriss of Wallingford. Funeral service will be Wednesday March 23, at 11 am at Christ Lutheran Church. Friends may call Wednesday morning at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE HAMDEN from 9:30 to 10:30, Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be sent to the Christ Lutheran Church, 600 Shepard Ave. Hamden CT 06514.
