John J. Hyland Sr., In Waterbury, March 16, 2002, John J. Hyland, Sr., 90, of 500 Moss Farms Rd., Cheshire, husband of the late Catherine Marak Hyland: father of Donna Drury of Novato, CA, Sharon Wade of Durham, Ellen Stash of Wilmington,NC, Lisa Remington of Hamden and John J. Hyland, Jr. of Cheshire. Also survived by 12 grandchildren. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters. John was born in New Haven on March 7, 1912 a son of the late John and Ellen Crosby Hyland. He was a WW II U.S. Army Veteran. He worked as a security officer for Olin Corp for 20 years before his retirement. Funeral leaving BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave.,Hamden, Friday, March 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. Graveside Service at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home Thurs. from 6 to 8 PM.
