In New Haven, December 17, 2007, John T. Mahoney, 81, of Hamden. Beloved husband of 58 years of Anne T. (Miniter) Mahoney, he is also survived by sons Ed Mahoney and his wife Denise of Michigan and Ken Mahoney and his wife Nancy of North Haven, daughter Michelle (Mahoney) Stafford and her husband Larry Stafford of Massachusetts and seven grandchildren: Ceara, Kasey, Kristen and Erin Mahoney, Hillary Morrison, and Meghan and Jack Stafford. John was predeceased by sister Helen Mahoney. Son of the late Timothy and Ellen (Burns) Mahoney, John was born August 4, 1926 in Ansonia. After graduating from Ansonia High School, John served in the Army Aircorps in WWII in the Pacific Theater. He earned an Associate Degree at Stone College and worked as an accountant at Parva Products and Wardoco. He was a 3rd degree Knight at the Knights of Columbus and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church where he was a collector for 31 years. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Thursday from 3:30 - 8 p.m. Funeral Friday, Dec. 21 from BEECHER & BENNETT at 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 12 noon. Burial will be in Mt. St. Peter's Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vascultis Foundation, P.O. Box 28660, Kansas City, MO 64188-8660.
