In New Haven, Oct. 3, 2006, Joseph G. Shia, 80, husband of Donna Westgate Shia of Grassy Hill Rd., Orange, father of Brenda Hankinson of Frisco, TX, brother of Julia Kiselewich of Stamford, Marian Libby of Shapleigh, ME, John G. Shia of West Monroe, LA, Henry G. Shia of West Haven and the late Frederick Shia. Also survived by a grandchild. Joseph was born in New Haven, Aug. 17, 1926 a son of the late George and Waheda Elias Shia and he served in the US Navy during WW II. He had worked as a toolmaker for AVCO Lycoming and was a member of the VFW Post 2871 of Woodbridge and was an auxiliary State Trooper with the CT State Police. Funeral service Sat., Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven.   3. I am still deeply saddened that I couldn’t come to say goodbye. My memories are of times long past when we were all young and a bit crazy at times. I remember a lot of laughing and teasing mixed up with the serious side of life. My condolences.
