Joseph Vincent Sapienza, 86, husband of Cruci Scaduto Sapienza of 150 Cook Hill Rd, Chehsire, formerly of Hamden, passed away Wednesday April 30, 2003. He was born in Manchester, NH, a son of the late Domenico and Venera Girgente Sapienza and lived there until moving to Hamden in 1957. Mr. Sapienza was employed as a salesman at Clinton's Piano and Organ Co. of New Haven retiring in 1983. He served in the US Army during WWII, and was a communicant of the Church of the Ascension. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter in law, Joseph V. and Marilyn Sapienza Jr. of Cheshire, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters Emelia LeBel, Palmena Ludwig, and three brothers, Santo ''SAM'' Sapienza, Alfred and Attilio Sapienza. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden, Saturday morning May 3, at 9:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in the Church of the Ascension 1040 Dunbar Hill Rd, Hamden at 10am. Friends may call Friday (TODAY) from 4-8pm.
