Kevin Christopher Freeman, 72, of Cheshire, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on January 24, 2023. He was born in Bridgeport on October 16, 1950 to the late Christopher and Gertrude Jenkins Freeman. He grew up in Fairfield before moving to Ansonia, where he graduated high school. While attending Quinnipiac University he earned his degree in Radiological Technology. He first worked at Yale for a period before his career took him to Waterbury Hospital, where he worked for over 40 years and retired as Chief CT Technologist.
Fifty years ago Kevin married his best friend, Ellen Besescheck. They settled in Cheshire where they raised their family. Kevin had a passion for music which was present on Thursday nights during rehearsals at his house with his band, The Third Rail and Scrambled Logic. Over the years family and friends enjoyed their talent at private events, open venues, and benefit concerts. Even though Kevin enjoyed his job and had a passion for music, family was his true love. Amazing memories were made while traveling across the county and hiking as much as possible along the way.
Besides his wife, Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his children and their spouses, Shawn & Jillian Reynolds of Wallingford, Megan & Justin Leavitt of Wallingford, and Justin Freeman of Boston; and grandsons, Parker and Blake. Predeceased by his sister Barbara Colvin.
Friends are invited to visit with his family on Thursday, February 2nd at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., immediately followed by a Memorial Service celebrating Kevin’s life in the funeral home at noon. Burial will be private. Contributions in Kevin’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, at www.stjude.org.

Ellen sending my deepest condolences to you and your entire family
My most favorite uncle Kevin, my heart grieves at the loss of your presence in this life. Your patience, understanding and acceptance of others was beautiful! I remember I asked you when I was in photography school if you could give me one piece of wisdom that would help me in school? You replied simply. “ Start with a good photo“ I will miss your sense of humor and your gentle heart, but I will never forget you. Love your goddaughter., Tawny
My deepest condolences to your family!
