Wallingford - Madeline Jacques, 88 formerly of Camp St., Meriden passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Skyview Convalescent Home. Known by her family as 'Minnow', she was born April 10, 1920 in Sacre Coeur De Marie, Quebec, Canada a daughter of the late Ernest and Dalia (Rodrigue) Jacques. Madeline had worked for International Silver Co. for 20 years and later retired from Napier Co. She is survived by a sister, Theresa Macri of Meriden as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by six brothers, Henry, Clement, George, Rocky, Robert, and Raymonde Jacques, and three sisters, Blanche St.Laurent, Fern Vivari and Anita Belanger. Funeral service Friday, August 1, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will follow at St. Laurent Cemetery, Meriden. There will be no calling hours.

  2. Im the one who named her Minnow. I lived w/her as a child and that is how I pronounced her name. And it stuck. As she was small in stature, it fit her well.
