Maria Teresa Martinez, 43, beloved wife of Jeremy Rice, passed away after a short illness at Hartford Hospital on May 26, 2020. Born in Meriden on June 7, 1976 to Teresa Serrano Martinez of Meriden and the late Sigfredo Martinez. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Maria appreciated traveling and loved photography, especially if she was photographing her family. Besides her husband and mother, she was survived by her siblings, Lewis and Awilda Martinez; and her fur babies, Daisy and Lucky. She was predeceased by her sister, Delia and her dog, Abby.

Maria was an amazing happy, positive person. Always talked about her family nieces nephews. We worked together with Jeremy who I encouraged to ask her out I thought they were perfect for each other. A few years later after our office closed she called me to invite me to their weeding I was so happy for them.
I’m so sorry for your loss Jeremy, her mom and family. I will keep you in my prayers during this difficult time .
