Marie Blanche Carrolla, 89, formerly of Cheshire, passed away May 23, 2020 in Masonicare of Wallingford after a brief illness. She was born in New Haven May 6, 1931 a daughter of the late Salvatore F. and Teresa Maria Altieri Carrolla, and recently resided at Pond Ridge/Ashlar Village in Wallingford.
Marie was employed as a store manager at JC Penney in Hamden and North Haven.
She is survived by a sister Sara Gibertoni, a niece and her husband Gail and Thomas Larson, a great nephew Thomas Larson, and a great niece Erica Larson. She was predeceased by sister Barbara Ann Carrolla, niece Sandra Gibertoni, and brother-in-law Erio Gibertoni.
She will be buried in the family plot in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
Please accept my sincere sympathy and condolences on your loss of Marie. You are in my thoughts and prayers. My very first job was at JC Penney in Hamden. I was still in high school, young and immature, but, willing to learn as much as I could since sales and merchandising interested me and I thought it may be in my future. Marie gave me the opportunity to work in the office and I worked in every other dept. as well, with the exception of selling shoes. My life took me in different directions, however,
I have always felt that Marie and her staff, helped give me a strong basic knowledge of what played an important part in my life. Thank you Marie! May you rest in peace.
