Easton-Mary T. Sternberg, wife of Edward Sternberg of Twin Lanes Rd. passed away suddenly December 4, 2004. Mother of Craig Sternberg of Easton, CT, Jeffrey Sternberg of Wickford, RI, Susan Quatrella of Harwinton, CT and Sally Socci of Newtown, CT. Sister of Jack R. Thim of Tierra Verde, FL, The Honorable George N. Thim of Trumbull, CT and The Rev. Paul R. Thim of Decatur, GA. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren; Evan, Warren, Steven, Benjamin, Brian, and Susan. Mrs. Sternberg was born in New Haven Feb. 20, 1936 a daughter of the late Judge John R. Thim and Mary Flom Thim and resided in Norwalk for many years before moving to Easton in 1996. She graduated from Hamden High School, attended Skidmore College and Manhattanville College and was employed by the CNA Insurance Co. prior to her retirement in 2000. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT, Thursday, Dec. 9 from 5-8 PM. Service of Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Sec. 22, North Haven. Friday at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 2969 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT 06518.

  4. I worked with Mary at CNA for a few years. She was a great lady, happy with herself and her life. She loved and talked about her family and especially the grandchildren. You all are so blessed with good memories.
