Nancy M. Kenny, 87, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Connecticut Hospice. Nancy was born in New Haven on July 29, 1936 to the late James J. and Beatrice Gaffney O’Brien of Hamden. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Kenny (Ret. NHFD), and loving mother of Robert F. Kenny, Jr. (Renee). Nancy is also survived by three precious grandchildren, Justin Kenny (Rachel), Amanda Kenny, and Christian Kenny, as well as great-granddaughter Peyton Rae Kenny, and her brother Robert O’Brien (Arlene) of Newtown, CT. She was predeceased by a son, Brian J. Kenny, her sister Alice Swiatek, and brothers James O’Brien and Patrick O’Brien.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Kenny was Vice-President of Branch Administration for the former First Constitution Bank. A parishioner of St. Rita’s Church in Hamden, Nancy served on many committees and as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.

Friends may visit with her family on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Paul VI Parish-Saint Rita’s Church, 1620 Whitney Avenue, Hamden at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Brian J. Kenny Memorial Scholarship Fund at Providence College.
