Nellie D. Horner, 95, of Hamden, passed away on July 1, 2012. Born in Towanda, PA, on July 13, 1916 to the late Callie and Carrie Johnson. She leaves her son, Ronald Reid of Unadilla, NY; grandchildren, Todd and Jessica Reid; great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Jaxson Reid; and niece Patricia Hamilton. Predeceased by both her parents and sister, Christine Shaw, Nellie worked at Winchester Arms and the Olin Corporation until she retired. She was a long time parishioner of Trinity Church in New Haven. Her Funeral Service will be held at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden, on Monday, July 9th at 10:00 a.m. Friends may visit with her family from 9 to 10:00 a.m. Her burial in Hamden Plains Cemetery will follow services.

  6. Please accept my condolences. My brother Peter Dudek spoke highly of Nellie and every time he visited Connecticut he would go to visit her. She was very special to him, he loved her dearly and our family always felt as though we knew her too when Peter would talk to us about her. My prayers our with all of you. Now Peter and Ms.Nellie can be together once again. Peace be with all of you at this sad time.
