Newington - Norbert Hernandez, 39 died on Sat., Dec. 9 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born Nov. 14, 1967 in Meriden a son of Jesus Hernandez and Maria Ortiz Hernandez both of Florida. He graduated from Maloney High School where he had been captain of the football team, and he enjoyed all sports. Norbert worked as a roofer for Ernest and Peterson Co. and was a member of the Roofers Local #9. Besides his parents he is survived by twelve brothers and sisters, Sandra Lopez of Meriden, Nivia Pantoja and Alicia Cabrera-Thomas both of Puerto Rico, Luis Hernandez of Tampa, FL, Mildred Hernandez of Meriden, Marilyn and Al Strong of New Britain, Jerry Hernandez of Tampa, FL, Evelyn and Alberto Gonzalez of Middletown, Helen and William Muniz of Meriden, Eva Hernandez of Tampa, FL, Gerald Hernandez of Vernon and Jesse Hernandez of Wethersfield. He was a loving uncle and will be missed by his 24 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, cousins, his girlfriend Shari Morris of Newington and her son, Jaden Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thurs., Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 81 Akron St., Meriden. Burial will follow. Relatives and friends may call at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden on Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., P.O.
