SOUTHINGTON - Patricia Ann Hobson Yale, 71, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Oliver Mack Yale and was a recent resident of Southington and former longtime resident of Meriden. Born in Meriden on July 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Grace M. Davis Hobson. She was a high school graduate and had been employed for 39 years in the payroll department of the Meriden Board of Education. In 1994 she was recognized by the Board of Education for 35 years of service to the Meriden Public Schools. She was a very active member for many years of the First Congregational Church in Meriden. She was a member of Exploring Opera, enjoyed music and the theater and also enjoyed hiking, golfing, travel and reading and was an avid sports fan. Patricia also liked spending time with family, friends and her weekly luncheon group. She is survived by a niece, Ruth Jackson of Old Saybrook, CT; four nephews, John Knowles of Sarasota, FL, Abbott Knowles of Westbrook, ME, Frederick Yale and Jack Yale, both of Guilford; a brother-in-law, Ralph P. Jackson of Wallingford; and a cousin, Phyllis Augenfeld of Meriden. She is also survived by her beloved Maltese, J.R. Funeral service Tuesday, June l, at 11 a.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Dr. John W. Clarke will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m to 11 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, 62 Colony St., Meriden, CT 06451.
