In West Haven, October 11, 2003, Raymond Estelle, 83 of Fairfax St., West Haven died peacefully. Beloved husband of Marguerite (Roston) Estelle. Loving father of Raymond Gray Estelle of New Haven, and Renee Estelle of West Haven, loving grandfather of Tyniesha (Maynard) Douglas of North Plainfield, NJ, Malcolm Estelle of New Haven, Ruth Dupree of West Haven and Steven Estelle of West Haven and 2 great grandchildren, Dasan Dupree of West Haven and Steven Estelle. Loving brother of Charles Lewis of Washington, D.C. and Joseph Lewis of Virginia. He was predeceased by a son, Ronald Estelle, I and a grandson Ronald Estelle, II as well as 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Betty Estelle of New Haven and grandson-in-law Jerrid Douglas of North Plainfield, N.J. In addition he leaves behind a host of family, friends, union brothers and other loved ones. Raymond was born in Allegheny, PA on December 28, 1919 of the late Jasper Estelle and Lucille Hall. Mr. Estelle retired from Local 455 as a laborer and business agent and previously was honorably discharged from Company C 839th engineers aviation battalion of the United States Army. He served in WWII. He received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with Philippine Defense and WWII Victory Medal. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 16 at 11:00 AM at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Avenue, West Haven. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday. Burial with military honors will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 769 Ella Grasso Boulevard, New Haven.
