Robert E. Bailey, Sr. "Bullett Bob", 78 of 6 Navarro Rd., East Haven husband of the late Violet Bailey, passed away August 13, 2005. Mr. Bailey was a Navy Veteran of WW II and retired from Metro North Railroad in 1989 after 41 years of service. His favorite pastime since retirement was bowling. Father of Robert E. Bailey, Jr. and Charlotte Mattei of Branford, and Carol Bailey Hernandez and her husband, Joseluis Hernandez of East Haven, grandfather of Robert E. Bailey III, Lori Bailey, Kelly Mattei and Shannon Bailey- Hernandez and great grandfather of Breanna and Jordan Bailey. He was predeceased by two sons, Charles M. and Russell Bailey, and a granddaughter, Maryanne Bailey. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE. HAMDEN, Thursday, August 18 from 5-7 p.m. Service of interment with Naval military honors will be in Centerville Cemetery, Washington Ave. Hamden, Friday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the "Jimmy Fund", c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, Attn: contributions services.
