Robert H. Hold, 86, of Hamden, died Tues. Sept. 19, 2000.He was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 23, 1914, the son of the late Henry and Louise Hold. Mr. Hold is survived by his wife Helena Hold of 59 years, daughters, Irene Motta and Roberta Smith, grandson Robert Sharron and granddaughters Tiffany and Bridgett Smith. Mr. Hold was First Lieutenant in the 393rd Infantry of the U.S. Army during World War II and was decorated with the Silver Star Medal. Prior to his retirement he was Office Manager of the Home Insurance Company in New York and Connecticut. He earned membership in the C.P.C.U. Society and was an Insurance Consultant to several local agencies after his retirement. Mr. Hold was an active member of the Men's Club and a Minister of the Eucharist at the Church of the Ascension of Hamden. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Sat.
