Robert Varkpeh Gooding, III, age 47, was called to the Lord on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Manchester Memorial Hospital located in Manchester, CT. Robert was born in Bong Mines, Bong County, Liberia, West Africa on May 23, 1977, son of James G. Gooding, Sr. (predeceased) and Rachel Hansen-Uymah. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, granduncle and friend. He will be forever missed by his mother Rachel Hansen-Uymah, followed by his wife Evelina Coleman. His children, Christina E. Coleman and Robbie J. Gooding. Siblings, Jamesetta S. Gooding Dorbor, Venus P. Gooding Kemoon, James T. Gooding, Jr., and Katherine G. Uymah. Brother-in-Law Emanuel Eric Kemoon, and Sister-in-Law Bernice S. Gooding. His nieces, Henrice Quaye, Faith Quaye, Love Quaye, Rachel Quaye, and Abigail Darbor. His nephews, Michael Walker, Erven Kemoon, Prince Kemoon, Aaron Kemoon, and Silas Gooding; in addition to his family and friends who will miss his energetic personality. He was hardworking, reliable, and dependable. His work experience was in the field of healthcare, human resources, and food services. He was a compassionate soul, a social butterfly who lived his life as a very empathetic person. He has a passion for dance and storytelling. His favorite saying was “One Love and Give Thanks and Praises!” He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Please join the family in honoring Robert V. Gooding on Saturday, May 24, 2025 with a wake from 8:00-9:00 a.m. in First United Methodist Church, 195 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. Funeral Service will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the church, followed by burial in East Cemetery, 220 E. Center St., Manchester, CT 06040. Information regarding a repast will be posted at a later date.

Rob u are so truly missed ,my brother i still play in my head of the first day u came into the barbershop and u looked at me and ask me if I would be yr friend ,and from that moment u became my best friend my brother. From that day forward we were together every day hanging out together my brother and u have been my brother for 30 years and u allways said I was yr brother u were with me 2 and a half weeks before I got the news of u passing we had plans u were in manchester with me now we talked so much about are future to make up for lost times this one hurt to a core ,are and will forever be my brother from another mother u were 1 of the best,friend ,brother fo some to keep in memory I’m gonna miss u my brother so much I love u Rob yr brother Ruben ,may u sleep in peace
