Sharon Lee DuBord
BETHANY-Sharon Lee DuBord, 74, beloved wife of Edward W. DuBord, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2017 after a strong battle with cancer. She was the loving mother of Kim DuBord and her wife, Sheri Wilson, of Vernon, and adoring “grandmother” of 3 four-legged “grandkids.” She was predeceased by her devoted sister, Diana Farace Jenks, and her parents, Louis and Elsie Bird Farace. Sharon was born in Rumford, ME on July 16, 1943 and lived most of her life in the New Haven area. A Cum Laude graduate with High Honors of East Haven High School Class of ‘61, she later attended Stone Academy. She was employed at Olin Corp. until 1993, and Wiggin & Dana in the patents and trademarks department as a legal secretary and docket clerk until her retirement in 2000. She loved spending time with friends and family, of which there were many. She and her husband Ed were able to enjoy many vacation adventures around the world in their retirement. She had a perfect smile and warm heart that everyone she met immediately noticed and loved. As a recent gift from her friend Barbara stated, “You’re the friend everyone wishes they had.” Friends are invited to visit with her family on Wednesday, August 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Her family would like to thank the staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be sent to Smilow Cancer Hospital, YNHH Office of Development, PO Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508 or Ride Closer to Free at this link: https://www.rideclosertofree.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donate.participant&participantID=10200.
