Tobias Hugh Johnson, age 42, of Meriden, CT, fell asleep on Saturday, July 29th, 2023. “TOBI” was born in Calais, ME, son of Debra V. (Brown) Queen of Meriden, CT and the late Kenneth L. Johnson. He resided in Meriden with his mom and stepfather, Steven Queen. Tobias is survived by his precious princess daughter, Lilian Rose Johnson, stepdaughter Isabella Velez, grandmother Sheila Dunbar, stepsisters Melissa Depasqua (Christopher) of New Britain, CT and Kelcie Fazzino (Stephen) of Colchester, CT, brother Dale Robert Townsend of Phoenix, AZ, sister Shannon Derzon Stultz of Colorado Springs, CO, maternal grandmother Barbara Cornell of Huntington, CT, Uncle Donnie “Goose” Brown of Princeton, ME, Kevin and Jackie Soledi of Fairfield, CT, Dale and Judy Johnson of Grand Lake Stream, ME and Dana and Melissa Johnson of Carson Road, Calais, ME. Also survived by numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as his best friends from his fervent love of online gaming that were like family: Craig, Edward, Emma, Gaz, Tanya, Chris, Moe Moe, Caden, Theodore, Matt, Benjamin, Chris and so many others. Tobias was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Reed and Priscilla Johnson of Calais, ME, and maternal grandfather, Donald W. Brown of Princeton, ME.
Tobi graduated from Trumbull High School Class of ’99. He loved landscaping and working with his longtime employer and friend, Rick Gade of Affordable Lawn Maintenance of Meriden, CT. Tobias loved helping his mom “Chef Queen” with prepping and executing special events, and also loved helping her tend the garden, and spending his precious time with Lilian. Tobi was so special, gentle and kindhearted. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him!
Arrangements are in care of Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, CT. His burial service and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
