Walter E. Bloomingdale

Meriden - Walter E. Bloomingdale, 96, husband of the late Virginia (Beardsley) Bloomingdale passed away on Sunday, April 19 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was born February 9, 1913 in New Haven a son of the late Jacob and Florence (Goodale) Bloomingdale. He had worked as a welder for CT Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union until his retirement. He was a former member of the Elks Club and a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union, Local 777. He is survived by a daughter, Virginia Rioux of Meriden, a sister Martha Mathewson of Hamden, two grandchidren, John Stagni of Moodus and Lisa Russo of New York as well as four great-grandchildren, Fallon Russo, Dreamy, Patrick and Liana Stagni. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 11:00 am at Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden. The Rev. Carolyn Young of the Whitneyville United Church of Christ will officiate. BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden is in charge of the arrangements.
