North Haven - Walter Herbert Gadd, 82, loving husband of 57 years to Olive Williams Gadd, passed away April 22, 2005 in CT Hospice after a brief illness. He was born in North Haven, June 6, 1922 a son of the late Ernest T. and Cleora Wooding Gadd and resided in West Haven before moving back to North Haven in 1966. Mr. Gadd served in the US Army during WW II and was employed by the Western Electric Co. as a warehouseman for 40 years prior to retirement. He was a 50 year Mason and a member of the Corinthian Lodge # 103 A.F. & A. M. of North Haven, a member of American Legion Post # 76 of North Haven, the Odd Fellows of Guilford and a volunteer driver for the CT Eye Bank. Mr. Gadd was a 50 year member of the West Haven Fire Dept., Volunteer Co. 3, and a member of the North Haven Fire Dept., West Ridge Volunteer Fire Assoc. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Clifton E. Gadd and his wife, Lynn of North Haven, Susan Gadd Burban and her husband, Robert of Clermont, FL, Claudia Gadd Moran and her husband William, of North Haven, Jacqueline Gadd Conway and her husband, John of Wallingford, Albron W. Gadd and his wife, Pamela of Northford, six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers. Friends may call Tuesday, April 26 from 4-8 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
